TALLOS [reading lamp] 2014

THE STORY: Tallos was designed as an ambient lighting item; it was destined mostly to resident use but it may also be used with great success in a public space such as a library, a waiting room or a pub. Yet, this was the goal: to have a diffuse light, especially for reading and relaxing times.

DESIGN & MAKE: The real challenge was to explore, try, and use a new material (bent plywood), which is very different as behaviour and properties from solid wood. Tallos benefits from a collapsible design. Moreover, the lights go on/off and change colours by manipulating a remote controll which makes it easy and fun to use.

WHAT’S IMPORTANT: durable, economic, collapsible
