TOUPIE [social game] 2012

THE STORY: This was a team project [with Rose-Marie Desbiens and Rachel Tardif], where we had to design a game/toy having no restrictions of age or stakeholders. The idea of the Toupie is to offer to people of any age (older than 5) an interactive and fun game to play with. It is based on gaining points in order to win the game. The loser has to execute one of the penalties written on the dock cards.

DESIGN & MAKE: The game was made as follows: aluminum border, plywood base with acrylic top and paper models inside (the look of the game could be different each time by changing de paper design). The spinning tool could be of various make: wooden one, paper crafted, or plastic. We chosed a plastic one with colored leds for a more interesting effect when spinning. The package was made from white thin card and it is stackable for the purposes of transportation and exhibition.

WHAT’S IMPORTANT: recreational, social, fun, wide range of stakeholders
